I’ll admit I haven’t been heading to my local J Crew as often as I once did. My wardrobe was once dominated by J Crew shirts and bowery slim trousers but the offerings in those categories just haven’t been as nice these past few seasons. That being said I have always enjoyed J Crew cardigans and sweaters as they carry great staples along with unique styles and fabrics to keep layering interesting through the fall and winter. This year a bunch of great looking pieces have already caught my eye and I thought I would share with you guys.
Wallace & Barnes sweater-jacket in merlot Italian merino wool – Merino wool, sweater/jacket hybrid in the perfect shade of burgundy.
Lambswool bomber jacket in heather grey – This is a perfect mid weight layer grey sweater to pair with denim; the bomber style and heathered look of this sweater make a great combo.
Wallace & Barnes chore jacket in black Italian merino wool – I am not usually a big fan of black in these types of jackets, but it works well here with the casual ribbed collar.
Next up is a couple of light jackets that are going to be great layered over an oxford shirt and cardigan during the fall months. This is definitely a staple look for me.
Barn Jacket in beacon red – This actually might be my favorite of the whole lot. J Crew brought back this heritage style and I was immediately drawn to it. It comes in a more versatile navy as well, but the red combined with the corduroy collar gives it a nice vintage vibe.
Baracuta® G9 Harrington jacket – I mean if it’s good enough for Steve McQueen, then it’s a certified classic.
Wallace & Barnes military shirt-jacket in pale sage – I get a ton of use out of my Epaulet Doyle jacket, but if the price point is out of reach this could be a great alternative if purchased on sale. Check out my Instagram feed for more inspiration on how to wear this style.
Marled cotton mockneck cardigan sweater – Pair this one with the jacket above and a Spier & Mackay brushed oxford to get a look similar to my picture below. Sadly that sweater is from H&M and a few years old.
Lastly, what would fall be without Chup socks. These sell out quick so be sure to jump on them while they are still around.
